Sorry i also forgot to add that it blows a fuse everytime the engine cuts out.. I'm pretty sure I've worked out the problem. Either the fuel pump is rooted or the wiring for the fuel pump is. Just need to figure out which one it is.

I have a question. I need to install the wiring harness for the whole car, the problem is that the tech that did this just cut all the wiring in out and left it that way. I am a mechanic so I am going to take the challenge. So please if anyone an help me with a wiring diagram or some thing that can help me to install the harness, pictures of wiring ect. anything would help. THANKS GUYS GOD BLESS! :)[/B]

i just got a bmw so extremely new to the brand
ive already checked the wiring harness where it plugs to the ecu
but my question is do all model bmw's run the wiring harness back to front on the same side
i dont wanna be tearing shit apart that doesnt need to be
already had a car with SERIOUS wiring problems
unfortunately i had to deal with that at 16

I recently picked up a e36 328i '97, and this morning whilst driving to my local train station my ASC dash light came on, then my ABS dash light came on, then my head lights dimmed right down, then my airbag dash light came on and i lost power to my stereo. I pulled over and thought i would turn of the engine and then restart, took three turns of the key to actually start the car, the first two sounded as though the battery was completely dead (very abnormal for this car). The same problems were occuring so continued my journey (as safely as possible), but during the journey everything would go back to normal, then the dash ligths would return and same issues would return, this happened several times over.

Looks like i shall be checking out the wiring tonight....... hopefully this is the problem i have had this morning. Until reading this thread i thought maybe it was dampness getting in somewhere. Will keep you posted on my findings.

found my problem

Just to update, my problem wasn't the wiring, two days ago i got a coolant level warning, checked under the bonnet (hood) to discover coolant everywhere....... and have found that when i top up the coolant it pours out of a hole in the radiator. Radiator isn't an original either, it actually looks quite new, but did discover some nicks in the fan. looks like i will be taking her to a garage to fix that one as i don't have the time myself.

But having read this thread i have checked the wiring, to find mine is actually all in good order, at least that is one item off my mind :)

i have 97 BMW Model 318i E36 car. My problem is, my transmission is not responding immediately after shifting. I believe there's something wrong with my transmission. SInce its a automatic tranny, I am planning to convert it to manual. Hope any body can Help.. Me and advise if this plan will work.

I have a BMW 318Ti has AT 96 had it for 1 hour and engine blew bought it used with only 113,920 miles on it $1,950 + 221 in tax on June 1 2013.The bad I cant get my money back from private owner and if I Scrap it I only get $500.00. Now Im looking for engine to put in I know this is not the right forum for this rant but If I have any problems like this I klnow where to look.

My question where is the German engineering They used Cheap Plastic for cooling system. Electrical problems all over the place. Enough too drive you crazy and we keep buying them. Transmission problems. They handle great but why do we spend so much too keep them going. The reason Im keeping mine is too drive it into the ground I dont not want to go buy another used BMW So Im going to keep this one. I called Korman and they want $5,079 for a remanufactured one or go to BMW and pay $5,125.
Does anyone else have an Idea where to buy a engine at

Scrap yards or wrecking yards man. Or search the classifieds for people parting out cars. Thats your best bet.

When did they upgrade the wiring harness or wires?

Guys, kinda new here and am in need of a little help. Any help is greatly appreciated. Well i have a 2004 325CI, its a wonderful car, but am expieriencing a problem. My interior dome light which turns on all tha interior lighting keeps coming on, and this gets annoying. Does anyone kno the problem??? i keep switching it off, but seconds later sometimes minutes later it will come back on. Any help is appreciated, thank you!!
When did they upgrade the wiring harness or wires?

i have a 318ti started off very well until it just cut nothing showing on the dash board after a few minutes it was able to start again and run a long mile after sleeping in the morning it cut again and continued after some time we diagnosed it and its reading camshaft position sensor can some one pleas advise
