Hi all,

I have a 94 530i with manual A/C. The problem is, my A/C is not running. The green light on the dash is on, fan is on, relay is good, fuses are good, but it's blowing warm air. The compressor also is not engaging. Is it the clutch or could it be something else? Anyone with similar experience? The vent is blowing warm air but when the dial is turned to the right it becomes hot like it's supposed to be. The R134a is full as it has been refilled and pressure is good during testing so no leaks whatsoever is showing.

check fuses first.

if ok, re-check R134a pressures.:
TIP: i don not see how u can tell that your system is fully charged when you say the compressor does not work

a good working system pressure should have your manifold guage pointers in the 10 o'clock area on the BLUE GUAGE; and 10 o'clock(or thereabouts) on the RED GUAGE with compressor running.

From the way u describe, i think you have 2 separate issues

The system was check using this automatic service gadget. It's a big machine that basically runs for 45 minutes emptying the system, checking it for leaks, fill it with R134a then check for pressure. All is done automatically with a touch of a button. As far as that machine is concerned, everything is OK

All fuses are OK. I do not find any blown fuse and compressor relay is also OK. Shall I continue to the compressor itself? Perhaps change the magnetic clutch or find a good 2nd hand compressor? It's not that much needed in Finland but could become useful sometimes :rule

I'll check the thread and try it on my car.
