97 318i M44 Performance Chip/Software ??

I'd like upgrade the ECU in a 97 318i w/M44 engine.

Does the M44 equipped 318i take a Piggyback Chip or Software thru the OBD-II port ?

What parameters can/do the Tuners "tweak" ??

Also, Where do I buy a Chip/Software for the M44 ?

am not sure if there's a piggyback for a 318 just yet...

...someone in the forum will certainly have a say on this as we go ;-)

Anyone ???
Yes, there's a ECU reprogram available for the M44 engine. According to Powerchip, the maker, the specs go to 155 hp and to 148 ft lbs torque. A respectable increase. There are power graphs on their web site.

I don't have one, but am considering it.
I know this is late but i found this thread from browsing the web. Powerchip makes the chip for the 318ti. Since it has the same 1.9L engine as my 318is the chip should work in my car correct?
Hehehe, Talk about answering your own question...
Welcome to Bimmerwerkz mate ;-)
lol thanks i just wanted to make sure, don't want to put an ECU in that wouldn't work right
I know 10 years have passed since the last comment, but is Powerchip still around?
