Just bought a 540 e39 love it!! used to have a 535 e39 previously which my friend wrote off! Any suggestions on which engine mods to go for first to improve performance? Also has a gas conversion thats LPG conversion and is a UK car, as I live in the UK.

Uhh...before I would supercharge, I would convert it back to petrol instead of LPG. If I'm not mistaken, a LPG powered car is not as powerful or responsive as the same car running on gasoline.

Oh and :welcome

Thanks for the advice and warm welcome! Can be switched to whichever fuel I want at the flick of a switch under the steering wheel. LPG is half the cost of gasoline over here in the uk and when doing rolling road test, BHP on petrol (gasoline) is 280 and 275 on LPG so not a massive difference. Was thinkin more around air filters, chips etc, your thoughts?? Supercharging is above what I want to spend at present, altho there is a repuatble company offering to supercharge taking bho to 415 at £8k, not sure what that is in dollars but its alot!

Can I get more info about the lpg conversion. As for mods I have seen air intakes that were copies of the dinan one made out of 3" pvc piping hooked up to a k&n.

I am assuming you are in the uk, as the only real benefit of a LPG conversion is the cost savings in comparison to petrol in the UK. There are different sytems you can get put in the 540, I would recommend you go for the rolls royce system, cant remeber the name but you can get more advice from F1 Cars in Bolton 01204529529, will cost you about 2k for a good job. only get a class job done!
