320td compact 2004,150bhp..about 4 months ago my car got this starting problem, i have to sit with the ignition on for 5 mins until i could here the fuel pump buzzing then it would start, i read that the fuel pump relay was a common problem so i changed it, then i changed the inline fuel pump and give it a full servive still same problem. ive just had it in a local garage and they noticed that when i put the ignition on the temperature gauge goes straight to red even when car is cold, and stays there for approx 5 mins before suddenly dropping out of red and the car will then start straight up. they changed the temprature sensor but it still hasn't solved the problem, they said the next thing for me to do is take it to main dealer, but i dont fancy paying their prices. once the car is started you wouldnt no it had a problem.. any help would be much appreciated as its driving me round the bend.....

ive also noticed that when the car finally starts the traction control warning lights come on, but sometimes if i turn the car off after its started then restart it straight away it will start 1st go and the traction control lights wont come on ? i have a feeling its some sensor problem, but which 1 could it be
