Welcome to the Werkz.
What size wheels & tyres do you have on the car now?
You can use some online resources to give you an idea of what different width & profile tyres you can use with your existing wheels, or if you are going to change the wheel size like 16" to 17", what the suitable sizes are. I use
Wheel / tire size calculator / comparer - WWW.RIMSNTIRES.COM quite a bit when I was looking around to change my wheels (went from 16" diameter x 7.5" width and +20 offset(235/60/16R), to staggered 19" x 9"&10" +24 (245/45/19R & 275/40/19R).
As far as tires go, I am looking the rubber I have from continentals Sport contact2 to Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta. I have been surprised by how little difference (comfort wise) the lower profile tyre has made to the ride of my car, (60 vs 40&45), there is no problem with corrugated dirt roads.
Depending on where you live you may have to hunt around to find a Vredestein supplier, but have a look at
Vredestein for the sizes that are available.
