I arrived in Germany and bought a 316i from a buddy. I believe the starter is going bad. My problem is that when i look to buy a new starter i cant find one for the 316i. Everything i keep seeing is for a 318i. Are the starters the same for these vehicles. Also if i was looking for some replacement body parts could i used parts from the 318i as well. Thanks in advance!

By the way, I have a 96 BMW 316i 4-door, 1.6L

The body parts are the same given both cars are 4 door (with the exception of bumpers).

As for the starter, yes the 318 uses the same exact starter.

dependent on year , the 316 and the 318 are exactly the same running gear apart from the throttle body , the 318 body is bored out more. I have a '97 and the 316 and 318 both have the m43 engines
