Hello everyone,
I need to replace the battery on my 2006 525xi and checked the forum for anything special that I need to know...
I read on the forum that there is a feature on the newer 5's that a battery needs to be "registered" with the car??? ...via the car's computer or is this something the dealership has to do???
Does the battery "registration" mean that I cannot simply replace the battery myself?
(I am a '98 3 series owner and the battery replacement for that car is very straight forward with no surprises and requires only a radio code reset to get the music working again.)
