Hello everyone,

I picked up an '06 325i, love the car, auto, only about 52k miles. In great shape, love the color.

It's going to need brakes coming up. Was quoted by a reputable local mechanic at $850 to $900 for everything. From what I've seen, that's fair correct?

Tires, the run flats have roughly one summer left on them. Oregon where I am in the States gets some snow, but more rain than anything else. Should I go with another set of runflats, or would you guys suggest a good set of all season non-runflats? This is the first car I've ever owned with runflats. I'm not hugely impressed with the feel I get from them, but it could be the specific runflats... Not 100% sure.

Any other suggestions? The car was just DEQ'd so I know it is good for 2 years and passes all the environmental stuff, also was just put through its paces at the local mechanic, and came away with flying colors.

The car came with the premium and sport packages.

One of the only annoying portions of the car is the transmission right now. The car runs amazing, but from a stop in "D", the car shifts pretty abruptly from "1st" to "2nd". I've read around there is a reset for the mapping of our transmissions, is this something I can do myself? I don't know if the shift pattern in the computer has been change or corrupted. Every other "shift" the car makes is smooth, it just seems no matter how hard or light my foot is in the gas, the shift is a bit abrupt, more so when I drive normally. If I am REALLY light on the gas, the shift isn't so bad from 1st to 2nd.

Anyway, here's a picture of my baby.

Thanks!
Mario

I love my '06. There's a way to reset to factory specs; I believe it was put in the key and press and release the start button without holding the brake, so the dash lights all come on but the car doesn't start, then hold the accelerator pedal down for about twenty seconds. That's it! Worth a try.

Ditto on run flats they are trash. I removed mine (Low Profile) since it was flat tire after flat tire and now run Bridgestones. Every time they went flat dealer had to replace the tire and they are costly if you have to pay for them.
