hey guys....when I go to lock or unlock the doors using the key/remote, only the rear doors lock/unlock. The front passenger door used to work completely, now it is sluggish and intermittent. The driver's door used to be sluggish/intermittent, now it doesn't work at all.

I have to keep doing a lock/unlock combo back to back, in order to get all 4 doors to respond to the command simultaneously. That is a pain in the but because I have to turn around and look thru the windows each time a get out of my car to make sure the doors lock, not to mention the noisy beeping sound---people look at me like I am crazy like "why is this guy doing this making all this noise with his keyless entry system".

Anyone else experienced this problem (and had a solution). I told my stealership (they are a bunch of assholes and so unprofessional/nonchalant about everything) about it and after doing the aofrementioned unlock/lock for 15 cycles, the guy says "well it looks like it works fine to me; I don't know what the problem is---I can hook it up to the computer for $120/hour and run some diagnostic tests on it for a few hours". A FEW HOURS???!!! That is complete bullsh** that they can't figure out the problem in less than an hour, especially with today's technology. I don't mind paying for the parts/labor, etc....but I refuse to pay $300-600+ just to "figure out what the problem is". :mad

Also, none of my doors don't auto-lock when I shift in drive and accelerate...I am thinking that may be unrelated to the initial problem (maybe they just need to reprogram my key/vehicle settings or something for that??

Any insight is greatly appreciated. :help :help

Each door has an actuator at the rear of the locking mechanism (black box 50mm x 80mm x 13mm approx) , you need to take them out, take apart (easy) grease up the insides, put back and all should be sorted...Ive done it twice on my 7 series..common problem the grease gets old and stops the little auger inside turning.....

thanks---I am not mechanically inclined at all-----do you have detailed pics/instructions on how to complete this task? I don't want to blindly go tearing into my car and break something and make another problem out of the current one....
