Just joined so forgive me if I'm not posting in the right area. I have a 2000 323i and had my transmission rebuilt because it wouldn't go into reverse. A common problem with this model i see! (on a side note, anyone had any luck getting reimbursed from BMW for this common problem??). Anyway, after spending my $3000 to get it fixed and taking it back a few times because it just wasn't shifting well after that, I find that there is no longer any difference between the D mode and SD mode. It used to downshift when I flipped the shifter over and I would have more power. But it doesn't do any of that anymore. Do you know if this is a software problem or something bigger? I'm getting really frustrated of having it go back into the shop all the time but I loved driving in SD mode!
