A Nissan 240SX. Light, RWD car with some pep. 95 and after they got a redesign in the body, and they look really, really nice.

that would be one of the worst cars for the snow...RWD and really light = sideways all the time

not bad cars in good weather, just not snow

I say TOYOTA all the way, it will run foreever

Hands down Toyota and Lexus if reliability is your first priority. Their cars are kind of bland IMO, but they are pretty much bulletproof.

i dont see what the big deal with snow is. i drive in the snow in my e28 535i, e28s are known to have the back ends pop out easy, no snow tires, and lots of torque.

my E30 325e was awesome in the snow... the ass did like to slide around, but it was controlable..... I got rid of that car, now have an 85 318 which is absolutely terrible in the snow. I think the car is just too light, and a few bags of sand or kitty litter in the trunk would help out a lot, but now the car is almost undrivable in snow. A few weeks ago, after getting over 15'' of snow, I had to be at work at 4AM. It was only 6 blocks away, and down hill so I wasn't really worried... long story short, I didn't get there til after 5 and the tow cost me $105.

sorry bout the story.... relevant to the topic: I did have a 91 jetta that was awesome in the snow, was very cheap, and had almost no problems

old late 80s-early 90s toyota pickups, are indestructable, literally...

those who saw the special on Top Gear will know what I'm talking about..

they crashed it into a tree, drowned it in rip tide, set it on fire, and demolished it in a building wired with explosives, and it still worked.

Aw heck, they were babying it. I want something I don't have to be gentle with. Something that, if you run out of gas, you can stuff the tank full of Big Macs and it will still run.

what you need is a 1960's licoln continental with the 460

or a millitary humvee they can run on almost anything that burns

Only reason 240's are bad in snow is because front bumper is so low it moves so much snow, so it basically becomes a snowplow. Trust me on that one my bro has an s14?(newer style) 240, awesome at drifting in snow too. Are 1978 lincolns reliable cars because my dad just got one, that thing is a tank!! So long also. His has a 470!

I like the Honda Accord (Euro version). For reliability the 1976 e12 5 series has been good. Only two things wrong in the last 2 years as a daily driver. There was a slight oil leak from the engine. Turned out the BMW dealer didn't tighten the cam cover enough when doing the valve clearances at the last service. Problem number 2, I started the car one day and heard a rattle, which seemed to get worse with more rpm. I called BMW roadside assistance. He tightened one of the exhaust brackets, problem gone. No A/C problems, no transmission problems etc. Car is low miles though, only 90,000 miles.

JEEP = Just Empty Every Pocket. Expensive to fix and rear ends are weak. A buddy of mine bought a 2 year old Wrangler and had it in the shop twice for rear diff. problems.

Toyotas are reliable. The Camry doesnt stay in the top ten resales for 10 years running for no reason. I alwasys read reviews/consumer reports before selecting a car.

My 525 has been quite reliable for commuting (35-40 miles a day). Its an older one but low mileage.

My dad had a 88 Nissan frontier, a new motor cost $1100 and a rebuilt transmission cost him $750, the odometer read over 600,000 miles when he sold it for 1,900 but that was just outside of LA
