He has a supercharger, not a turbocharger, although there are plenty of ways to turbo your 325.

No, he had a shop called RPM North do it for him. They're in Long Island.

This is still a pretty decent sized job, despite them calling it a simple "bolt-on" since there is changing the re-flashed chip involved.

I did not realize it was a supercharger, what is the performance difference? I have owned a turbo charged car before, so how does the performance compare? We upgradded the turbo and wastegate, boost gauges and other parts on my LeBaron GTS, it was a fun little car!

Isn't the compression on a 1988 325is a little high for turbo charging?

Thanks for your help and information

1. Superchargers feel significantly different than turbochargers because the supercharger is ALWAYS spinning, and so the power delivery is much more linear.

2. No, there should be no problem putting a turbo on your 325, if done right. Obviously you can upgrade the engine internals and change the compression if you want to, but unless you want to put a lot of boost in it, you don't necessarily have to.
