I have a Speedo that I never saw work since I purchased the car. My RPM gauge seems to work pefectly for the exception of the MPG needle that flys to zero whenever I hit the gas. Is there just one fuse for the entire gauge cluster or a fuse for each individual gauge? I checked the sensor at the differential and it was clean and even sprayed contact cleaner on it before putting the rubber boot back on? Is it common for the sensor to go bad even though it is a passive device without any moving parts?

A lot of questions I know. If it is not the actal sensor or the connections there or the fuse(s) do I check the wiring coming from the sensor to the gauge and leave pulling the cluster and reflowing the soldering joints as a last ditch effort? Thanka in advance!
