Question Z4 Tailpipe Trim

I have a 2004 Z4 3.0 with Premium and Sport packages. I bought the Chrome Tailpipe Trim (Part No 82120151088) but they did not match up with the existing exhaust pipes. Has anyone installed these tailpipe trim? Do you need to do anything to make them fit?

it looks like there is only 1 part # for Chrome tips for your year and model. What exactly is the fit issue? Are they too loose? too tight?

I actually got them on, but not all the way. To the ends of the existing pipes, probably just an eighth of an each on one and half each on the other. Without risking anything else, I'l leave them where they are.
