I am new here. Just got a Z3 in mint condition. My wife asked "how are you going to call it?" you know them women... I said it it is too early to tell, have to wait and see the attitude. But for starter I assumed it was a boy. Just read a thread here where this other Z3 was referred to as she. So now I also have to find out the gender. Just curious to hear about others.
I've never named my cars. I guess I don't think of them that way, neither he nor she, just "it" or "the Zed" or "the Bimmer," although with two I have to specify which one.

in German, cars are generally referred to as "he", while motorcycles are "she".
My Touring is called "Der Touring", my Benzo is named "Gonzo", but my brother calls his e30 "Charlotte". Oh, and my sister calls her GS500 "Susi"
All right, is settled, the Z3 is a she. I was hoping for a boy.
See, I got a Land Rover, Elsa definitely is a fat woman, grumpy, slow, boring, but she will take you far and away as long as you go out of your way complimenting her and not pushing it. The more snow, the cozier she feels. A Mitsubishi Montero, very feminine, not very strong, but very agile and easy going. Anybody can ride/drive it, you know what I mean. A FJ Cruiser, now that one, if it is she, it is a very manly she, I can tell you that. Now the Z3.......so far pure fun.
