No sound from radio

Hello all, I'm a new ower of a 2005 BMW Z4 2.5i and I'm having a problem with the radio. The radio turns on and all of the functions work but I can't get any sound out of it. I checked fuse #'s 47, 48, 49, and 50 and all were fine. Then I remembered that it has a amp so I went to check the fuse for that but can't find where it would be. I looked on the amp and next to it but could not find a fuse for it.
So my questions are,
1) Is there a fuse for the amp?
1A) If so where do I find it?
2) Am I on the right track to finding out what is wrong?
2A) If not where should I be looking?

On a side not I did a search for this here and all over the web with very little info found.

Welcome to the Werkz.

If you the radio is on and you go for a drive 10 - 15 minutes should be enough, can you feel if the amp is warmed up at all? If not then you are probably on the right track. Are you able to easily locate the 12 volt supply to the amp and check if it actually has power? If there isn't any power, you'll probably find the supply fuse is in a similar location to that of the stereo.
Did the unit stop working at the same time as any other event, eg routine service etc?

It just stoped working so I figured it had to be a fuse but every fuse in the car that I have found is fine. I will have to check to see if it gets warm or not. I will also check to see if it is getting power. Thanks for the tip.

Do you have access to a multimeter or test light?

Yes I do but I'm 900 miles away from the car so I will do some testing on it when I get back to Texas.

No wonder you can't here the radio. I am surprised that you can tell whether its on at all
