alright i get a call from my girl today and she was freakin out and say that when she took the key out of the ignition all the lights in the car, on the dash were still on and you could still here the little fan for the modules under the hood runnin. and she would go to start the car and would just crank and not start. told her to disconnect the battery and reconnect to see what would happen and it started up but all electronics still stayed on inside. ANY ONE RUN INTO THIS BEFORE ON THIS CAR ITS 1999 Z3 2.5L.
I would say its a faulty switch, not the barrel, its located on the end of the barrel, so you will have to remove the steering column covers, DIY job, new from BMW.
