Ill try to make this as short as possible. Forgive me if it runs together Im using my phone sometimes it does not type the best. But anyways this is my first and probably my last thread. My mom bought a 99 z3 about 5 years ago she fell in love with it after i found it for her. Over the years she's been fighting with cancer and has not had the money to keep up with this car. A few days ago i went down and picked it up for awhile. In hopes of surprising her when i take it back down to her all new and nice.
1st problem is the top a piece that meets with the window on the drivers side door is missing so it does not seal water gets in and has ruined the seat. Where could i find the weather stripping at? Any little diy home fixes anyone has found? Sure cost thru bmw would be nuts.
2nd is while she was out of town on a meeting somone broke into it didn't steal anything just broke the glove box and the two storage compartments behind the head rest and seats. Any company that makes these other then going thru a bmw?
the rest is little things i can do myself. But just trying to find some help hopefully some one could point me in the right directions to some websites that sell the parts i need?? Any help or input would be great. Ive worked on her car a few times but its just not as simple looking up parts for my cummins. Im not fake or trolling feel free to check out the cumminsforum i have the same user name and have had many threads/post. So in no way am i trying to waste anyone's time just trying to surprise my mom with something she deserves. thanks yall in advance for the help

Sorry, wish the news was better, but finding the stripping from a non-BMW source is tough. I spent about three hours on the task about a year ago, and came up with nothing from non-OEM vendors. If you could find something that would work, it probably wouldn't have the same seal, and then it will let water in when it rains.
Not sure where you are located, but i use BimmerSpecialist for all of my OEM parts. They usually have a pretty good selection, but I have never looked for window weather stripping. One option i would consider is going to your local dealership and asking them who they use for window replacement. Most, if not all BMW dealerships contract out glass replacement. The company they use should have OEM suitable replacement window stripping.
Have you tried Pelican Parts? I find them very useful and they often will have alternative choices for OEM of after market parts....plus they have some packages, like I bought the entire suspension & brake kits...virtually everything under the car that can move for a good package price...
