5 speed trans. interchageability help - BMW Forum

My 96 z 3 has a 4 cly and someone has a 91 318 5 speed does anyone know if they will interchange? thank for any help.. joe

go here and do a cross match:

the other thing to consider is that you EGS will not be compatible and I dont think the donor EGS will work in your car. This would if they do interchange mean alot of programming, which Im not sure is possible as BMW might not be able to do it.

I m not sure what egs means. Little more help. Im surprised ive never heard of this. Again thanks for the input..joe

EGS is only for the Automatic transmission to my knowlage correct?
