I recently purchased a 2003 Z4 2.5i with 73,000 miles. I replaced the lower conrol arm bushings, had an alignment and spun balanced the tires. However, I am getting a "floating or boating" feeling on the highway. Any idea what could be causing this?
If the rest of the bushings are worn out then that could be why you have that feeling. A worn out sway bar bushings in the rear is usually the cause. I recommend checking both the front and rear and replacing them together. Their not that expensive but should help to get rid of the feeling.
Also, check the tire pressure. Sometimes if the tires are over inflated, you can get this effect.
