Ok I had my 4.4i X5 with 128,000 miles towed home after the tank split. We got the new radiator in just fine no problems. However we can't get the cooling system to bleed completely. The climate control circulates the coolant electrically and I get hot air from the hvac. The hose to the thermostat is hot. The hose coming out of the block is ice cold. This is after revving the engine and letting it idle for about 10-15mins. There has to be an air pocket somewhere in the block or by the thermostat that isn't letting it open the thermostat right? Is there a bolt or screw on the block to manually bleed it? Please help me!!! This is my main driving vehicle!!
