Comfort access and the car wash

I picked up my 2008 X5 about two weeks ago and have washed it twice since then. My question is:
When I walk around the vehicle while pressure washing it, with the remote in my pocket (I have comfort access), the lights flash on and off. Is there a problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried walking around teh vehicle when you are not pressure washing it?

Also, I would avoid pressure washing at all costs. Use a bucket, or a low pressure hose and rags/sponges to wash your car. Unless you are leasing -- in that case, who cares what happens to your paint.

It doesn't seem to do it when I am just walking around the vehicle with the remote in my pocket.

I wish I had the time to hand wash my vehicles. I gently pressure wash them, wax twice a year and power polish every couple of years.

I have found out that if I leave the key inside the vehicle while washing it, the alarms do not go off.

That is so weird to me. I wonder if this is something BMW is aware of. Does your x5 have the alamr installed? I am thinking it may be motion sensors

It has the factory security system. I assume it has the alarm, although I have never heard it go off.

Firs off, pressure washing is not bad for your paint unless you are using a private machine with higher than normal PSI. This is not an issue if you are at a local do it youself wash. Do use your own wash mit with own soap however.
As for you comfort access I bet you are accidently pushing the button while its in your pocket, its easier than you think.

there is no problem, the remote control in your pocket is merely sending radio signals to your access system, this is what i think
