All season wheels

I have an 07 X3 sport package with the staggered 19" wheels. I have been wanting to go with an all season tire. Those that are knowledgeable on the subject probably already know I have been running into trouble.

My question is can I just go with a 235/45R19 all the way around and be fine? right now I have 235/45R19 in the front and 255/40R19 in the back. What is the point of the staggered set up anyway? Doesn't really seem necessary to me on an AWD vehicle.

I have no idea what the point of a staggered setup on a AWD vehicle is either to be honest ... probably just aggressive looks.

Anyway, the back wheels are wider (to accommodate the wider tires). You will be perfectly fine running same size tires all around: just keep in mind that the back tire will be stretched more ... perfectly fine if you don't mind it like that.

I run 235/40 all around (7.5 inch wide rim in the front and 8.5 in the back):


edit: notice the difference: sidewall sits flush in the front and has stretch in the back
