I'm lookin at the P21S Auto Care Kit at bav auto it includes: wax, shampoo, wheel cleanser, wipes. For $49.95.

any good? or should i hold out for a zaino kit that's about double in price?

i think u can find i better price than that. i remember seeing a kit like that, maybe even more in it for 40 bucks. now remember if u just get the zainos kit it wont be enough. and if u just that that PS1S it wont be enough. u have to find compinations.

If you want to get the best shine, for the cheapest price, consider this combination.


I know that your bimmer is not a dialy driver, its your toy so I am gussing there are not alot of scratches and swirls soo you can skip using abrasive polishes. like the 1Z ultra pant polish followed by 1Z paint polish, and go stright to this.....

that will give u a veryy nice a deep shine. Start of with the AIO, you can do two coats of that back to back. After that you can do the SG. U can put more than one coat on but u must wait 24 hours. I Would put 2-3 coats on. Then u can move on to the P21S Carnauba Wax which is a great finishing toping! To maintain your newly shinning car you can use
sonus acrylic spirtz which is just like a quick detailer

another good thing about AIO is that it can be used to polish your rims afteer you clean all the brake dust of with your favoite wheel cleaner!

i dont know if you have an orbital or not so u can just use an applicator pad and a buffing towel to do your work

You can get some MF towels on the autopia site if you want or u can do what i did. I just bought the councord buffing towel from there ( best used as a quick dealing towel plus u get a discount on that towel when u buy AIO) and get the rest of your MF towels ( for buffing and anything else u need) from http://www.exceldetail.com/excelpage4.html

this is just a suggestion, you can always go the zainos way if you like, i was going to but after reading I changed my mind. you can use a number of different things that will go along with zaions, take a look at this artical and see what u think http://store.yahoo.com/autopia/zaino.html

unfourtuantly there are a few chips, scratches, and swirls from the previous owner(s)... but thank you much for the info sschneider...

and I'm suprised you remember that it's not a daily driver.

np man, if u want to get rid of the swirl marks and most scratches ( not hide, like zainos does) then get the 1Z ultra paint polish followed by the 1Z paint polish....then u can do the AIO and soo on. once your done u can get some touchup paint, sand paper and fill in the rest of the chips and scratches that remain. hopfully i'll have a rightup on everything I do to my car in the next week. my final supplies are in arizona right now lol

P21S is a great wax but is considered a "topper". And because you have some swirls the P21S Gloss Enhancing Paint Cleaner won't do you much good at taking them out. As far as the kid goes ... you can probobly mix and match some different products that are most suited to what you need to do for *your* car. I recomment trying to find S100 wax ... same as P21S, but in different packaging. Same wax, same shine, less money, and its available at harley stores.

i agree w/ the 1Z (aka Einszett) polishes. If working by hand they are great and will get you decent results.

my car looks a million times better than it ever did!!!
there are only a couple spots i need to go over to get the sanding scratches out and a couple spots were i need to sand some more. buts thats about it! tomorrow its AIO and maybe Selent glaze!

im not sure if it woulda turned out the same if i woulda did it by hand, the orbital made all the difference, not including the little hole i burned threw the paint, but thats the only negative thing about it lol

hey schneider, i've been toying w/ the idea of wetsanding some too. After several hours w/ UP and PP there are still some heavy scratches and swirls that were only filled in by the waxes (or whatever they are) in the 1Z stuff. Any tips for wetsanding? or any websites?

sry not trying to jack this thread, and again, unless you're into PC's or machine buffing, all the 1Z stuff works beautifully by hand! Its fool proof and you can't go wrong!
