i have tried 2 times to clean my car today. i am using a mr. clean auto dry, turtle wax soap(whatever its called), a sponge, and a shamy like cloth just to speed up the drying a little bit. i just bought a new filter for mr clean auto dry, new soap, and shamy like cloth. the sponge has only been used one time before.
this is my procedure. i water car down well. then use the autodry soap spray thing. then i get my bucket of soap/water and rub the whole car down. then i rinse off with water, then use the mr clean auto dry filter spray/deionized water.
i used the auto dry before, and it worked great.
i dont know why i still have dirt on my car. it looks great from far away, but up close, it looks bad. there are no water spots.
am i no cleaning my car with good technique or what?
can you guys give me advice???
THANKS
oh yeah, on a side note, i just had my car detailed a few weeks ago. i think they put curumba wax on. i dont know if that has anything do to with it...
by washing your car u pretty much are taking of the wax so kinda sucks lol.
here is what i have heard for the best and simpliest ways to get your car looking nice...
Go to the zainos website and pick up a clay bar and some polish
if u have swarl marks and fine scratches get Z5
If not get Z4
Then wash your car twice
after that dry it off..its best to take a little drive to get the nooks and crannies dry
then use the clay bar and do your whole car..this stuff gets ride of the dirt that just washing your car wont get
then u are all ready for the polish! now unlike wax polish restores your paint finish and makes it look newer...wax just sits ontop of the paint.
you can put as many coats of polish on as u want. some ppl have probably done close to 50 coats/
Unless u buy a speical kit u can only do one coat a day.
If your car is really scratched up and has alot of scratch markes u can go to the detailer and get it cut and polished... I have heard that thats a very good idea, which i might consider doing in the near future cause my car is a mess! after that then polishing will be alot easier.
Good luck!
btw, im 14 soo i bet there are alot more ppl that can help u more than i can, i dont really have any experience
my car was just detailed by a professional detailer. yes, they used claybar, and ect.
also, i had pretty much all the scratches buffed out, well there were still a quite a few that couldnt get buffed out, but must major were buffed out. all of the sudden i notice a scratch mark on my hood tha tjust seemed to have appeared. think some1 scratched it, or even my cat?
if anyone wants to give me hints on washing, please do so. i dont know why my car is still dirty
dont be a lazy fuck...

the next time you wash your car it will be easier...

god damn, what the hell are you talking about. you need to calm down. why are you calling me lazy fuck? i did "clean my car... then detail each pannel with soap and water..."
on the 3rd wash, i was out side from when the sun was almost down, until it was dark as night. at least 45 minutes(felt like hours). i would say that i washed my car like crazy. i am not dependent on auto dry for washing my car, i just use it as a spray, to get my car wet, then get a little soap on it. then is fully soap my car using the soap and water in a bucket way. later i rinse my car with water from the autodry spray device, then use some filtered deionized that comes through the autodry device to make sure that i get no water spots.
sound okay to you?
before getting my detail, i washed my car using the autodry, not even working as hard or long, but i still had good results.
also, dont downgrade something that you probably have no idea what its all about, or have ever used.
Originally posted by CiscoKid@May 30 2004, 08:22 AM i use a rag instead of a sponge... i work in a detail shop and that was what i was tought... jut my opinion
what kind of rag are you using? is it something really soft? where did you get it from? i have heard that some rags or towels are bad to use on a car because it can scratch it... i heard...
my sponge is the biggest peice of crap. its no old at all or anything, but it sucks. one of the sponges that has the little peices of yarn or whatever sticking out. it always leaves lint on my car after a wash.
no no i said "DONT BE A LAZY FUCK" not YOU ARE A LAZY FUCK
meaning
get dirty
own that bitch
it looks dirty because there is DIRT on there... clean it off...
or get it detailed, ya lazy fuck
i dont have a shitload of pressure coming out of my hose, could this be a reason?
all of my plumbing just sucks. hardly any pressure, hard water, and toliets just suck, randomly they will just not drain, even though there is no shit or TP in the bowl... the 3rd doesnt rreally have anything to do with washing cars, but it still sucks.
