I used Meguires 3 step for years, then changed over to the Mothers 3 step when they changed formulas a couple of years back.
Regardless of final brand you chose, if you have time on your side to get 2 coats on your car, then I strongly recommend trying a 3 step formula..... (step 2 polish, step 3 wax) is all that you really need as long as you keep wax on the car.
