This has to be somewhere in the south.
LOL! If it was in the south, a redneck like me would be attending this event!
I've watched a few truck races on SPEED and ESPN, etc., but they have never been anywhere in the south. I believe it is more of a European sport to be honest.
Want to talk about sick power? Those trucks typically put out well over 1000hp, but the torque is really wild! Diesel's have a C/R of somewhere around 14:1 to 18:1. Keep the air charge cool and the pressure as high as possible, add buckets of fuel, and enjoy the ride!
Makes me wish I picked up a new Chevy Duramax with the Allison tranny, with some power goodies!
actaully with a turbo diesel it is not uncommon to see upwards of 24:1 compression. I saw a dodge cummings (i think dodge has the cummings right?) turbo diesel with 600 hp and 900 ft/lbs (claimed). The guy had a trailier on his truck, with a drag car, tools, extra tires, ect and still did a burnout with the truck. His truck with trailer could spank most of us except for the M3s in the 1/4 mile.... damn...
