FFDirectShow - decodes about 95% of the most commonly used codecs. This is a decoding codec, not a media player. A codec is like a system driver, you install it once, and you never have to deal with it again. But if you want to, it's got a TON of sweet features, built in post processing filters, noise reduction, temporal effects, and a subtitle renderer
