Is there a reset switch if power is lost?

I am looking to buy a 91 352i and was told there was a reset switch that had to be set to get the air and other electronics to work after the battery went dead. Is this true? Is there anything that needs to be done if the car sets for a few weeks with a dead battery. Was told the air and radio worked great before the battery went dead. HELP
