Giving All Members the Authority to Change the Title of Threads Started by Him or Her
Why not? Can we do it? I think that if the software allows for it, we should be able to go back and change our own titles. Many would go back and insert and NWS warning in the title without having to wait for a mod or admin to roll by. What if I have an update and want to highlight that so that people actually click again on my thread? I really wouldn't see the harm in doing that.
I recognize that links to threads with changed names would be broken, but I believe even that can be avoided if links posted from threads point to a thread by thread number and not by thread name.
If only the thread makes can adjust it, I don't see it getting abused. I dont think people will go back and randomly change their title without reason.

Why not do it the same way editing is done? Let them edit the title for 10-15 mins after posting, that way if there's a mistype that they did not notice while posting they could fix. One of my threads from a long time ago about the clutch stop has some horrible typos in it... wish i coulda changed... but then again I've never asked mods to change them either...
I think we can do this now.. I just posted the a thread.. and randomly clicked near the check box looking icon under the rating column... and I was able to change my own thread title... gonna see how far back it works...
