I've also had a terrible experience with Umnitza. I had to send the same damaged pair of headlights back to them twice for repairs. I ordered/payed for them April 5th..... finally got a pair in fairly descent shape the first week of July. Customer service was pisspoor at best. After I sent the lights back the first time, I called them; they said "we sent them back to ya today"....... a week later I called back and they still had the lights... pretty shady business if you ask me...... However, after the first month of lies and bullshit, I dealt with Matt Grintsaig himself and things went a little smoother and I finally got my lights and $100 compensation.

It sounds like a combo of personnel problems and unpreparedness for the volume of business they began taking in. Prior to my experiences I heard nothing but good things, but I myself would probably never do business with them again. I hope they get their company straightened out.

I also had a bad experience with Umnitza, I know a lot of people had positive experiences but...

The product he sells are good, I'm sure of it... But I will not buy again from Umnitza.

I received a first box, with more than half my order missing. Then I emailed back to have the stuff I've ordered... he only replied partial emails like: I had 2-3 questions in it and he answered "no" or "yes" only without telling me to wich question he was answering... then I received a 2nd box, still missing the plastic parts that covers my headlight (to protect.. called Stongard)... then finally after like 15 emails, I finally received a cheaper brand protective plastics......
Oh and I didn't talk about the wires that were randomly disconnected inside the headlights... Lot of fun while installing....

So... I don't want to blame him, he might have a lot of orders to prepare and a lot of work... that's a lot if he's alone to do all this, but I really won't buy again.

ALRIGHT now I really really am F**king mad!!! On one of the headlights the god damn rings don't even work right!!! NEVER EVER EVER deal with these assholes again!!! I am too pissed to work. I called him and got some damn run around! I will fix them myself! It looks like a damn ring is blown out.

I hear ya, they are a bunch of losers up there.

I ordered some ZKW ellipsoids w/ Angel Eyes. I get them, and one of the rings doesn't work. So I send the light bucket back for repairs (I had to pay for both shippings mind you), they send it back a few weeks later. The ring that didn't work is now purple, instead of the green that they come with. I called and asked what was going on, but all they would tell me that I was installing them inccorectly. Hilarious.

they had some rough starts with products but if something doesn't work they will switch it out. I'm only a 25 minute bmw blast down the freeway from their shop in Nor Cal so if i ever had a problem, which i did a couple of times, i just went to get it sorted out. But they're good guys.#

I'm sure they would be much more cooperative if you bring the prob to them in person..... for many of us who live 1000+ miles away; they really didn't seem to give a flying f*ck... I did actually consider going to give them a visit in Cali while I was on vac. in CO...... But it really wouldn't have been worth my gas..... Definately not worth my time. Matt Grintsaig seemed like a good guy, but they really need to get their shet together. Products seem decent as do prices..... customer service and shipping definately need improvement.

I was impressed with the response time to my emails and voicemails. But the indirect, avoidant, and deceptive responses to my questions and concerns really insulted my intelligence--I was very disappointed. I think the problems they have can easily be worked out, and could potentially run a descent business.

The passenger side outside ring is the one that doesn't work. Also the driver side outside ring is a little bit dimmer for the first ten minutes or so that it is on. I like the additional light output of the ellipsoids espcially with a hundred and ninety bucks worth of piaa H1 bulbs in them. Sexy...

They said they would send me two new rings and some h1s but, who knows when they will actually get here.

as one of matt's retailers i'm obligated to speak my piece.
Matt is a great guy who knows his stuff and cares about his customers. Unfortunately there are just not enough hours in the day for Matt, between work, shipping, wholesale, product design, and his wife/children.
Matt has tried hiring people, but they make the situation worse sometimes - incorrect shipping, broken items, and they don't know what to say on the phone or in emails.
Right now Matt has 2 great guys in the shop and another guy on phones. It seems to be going well, as all our wholesale stuff is getting out within a reasonable amount of time.

I wouldn't avoid business with umnitza.

Well, my passenger side rings are out now. Atleast i'm not the only one that has had trouble with their lights...ugh this is a mess in its self. Whats up with these lights, I shell out 950 dollars, I expect nothing but good things and now I have a lame problem to deal with.
