Just thought I'd share an experience with you guys that I had with SpoilerDepot.com. I don't know if you guys are familiar with the company, but they sell spoilers for fairly cheap prices, for a wide range of cars. On 8/11 I purchased an m3 spoiler from the company online. As I have been ordering quite a few things online lately, I didn't bother to check the order status until today, and I noticed that the order status was listed as "ordered," as opposed to "shipped." I called the company and inquired as to the delay, and they couldn't even find my name in the system. I gave them the order number and I was told my order was never even processed...funny how the money still left my bank account. I was told it would take them 5 days to paint the piece, and another 5 days to send it to me in California.

Now obviously this is just opinionated, but I think that is pretty poor service to first of all not even carry out my order (yet charge me), but then to not even offer any compensation. I guess ordering from Tuner and Bav has softened me up.

That does suck. I would have told them to either give me a partial credit on my credit card (for the interest paid or lost--depending on debt or credit card) or they can just give me all my money back so that I can order from somewhere that does care about my business! What a bunch of morons!

same thing happened with safarigard, an off road comp i used for parts. its illegal for them to remove the money from ur account untill they've shipped ur order. you can deffinatly get a partial refund. they won't want legal action

Thats a federal law... I'm pretty sure if your brought that one up to them on the phone.. they would start asking you what you'd like them to do for you. Sometimes it just takes someone saying something that isnt all that good to get them moving a little...

Um, thats not ilegal to charge at the time the order is placed. As the eCommerce Manager for my company, I am pretty fluent in online commerce laws.

Most shopping cart systems authorize and capture your credit card information when you place the order. This is to insure you can pay for the goods when you order them. There is nothing ilegal with this unless they state otherwise on their site.

Your credit card is charged when they batch out (usually nightly) with their 3rd party processor.
