You can't beat 1,000,000 mile warranty. Performs a lot better also. If you don't track your car, this is a very good investment to make. I'll come back and write something about any improvements (or not) in fuel comsumption.

It's pretty simple. First you brush off any dust residue, then apply some K&N cleaner to it and let it stand. Then you move on to rinsing the filter and letting it dry. Last thing you do is re-oil it with K&N air filter oil. Then it's pretty much just letting it sit for a little while for the filter to absorb the oil and you;re ready to go.

Yeah, I mainly got it for the savings. I am pretty sure the feel of added power came from changing out the old filter, which was in pretty bad shape -- darn previous owners issed2" class="inlineimg" />
i dont use a filter at all. that really speeds it up. and it sounds so much better too. i dont see why ppl need filters. its not like they go through dirt fields everyday.
aren't they worth ~$40? & going by "drz328i" all those cleaning materials you have to use to keep it clean seem like they all add up to ever more $ spent...

In my sig is a link to where I bought my K&N for my E46. It was the cheapest source I could find at that time... I think it was like $34 or $36 and the cleaning kit was around $10. I've had to clean once, and there's still PLENTY left in the bottles.
