So i got this knock off chip from ebay for my ETA, for about 40 bucks. It said it was an ac scnitzer chip, but i don't think they ever made one for the e30. I checked out the sellers other items and he had chips for all sorts of cars. I took the gamble and got it.
Well i've had it in for about a week and all i can say is WOW. It made a signifigant raise in range power. Even with my o2 senser sketchin out sometimes. It raised the rpm limiter to about 56- 5800. Hard to say when the tach only goes to 5g. Anyway, it pulls right through, from 2g all the way up solid to the top. When i used to pull a brakestand, on good pavement it would go for a bit but never have the power to keep pushing. Now when i drop the clutch the brakes don't even stop the car from moving, and the tires never stop spinning. And now i can drive my car hard and the gas milage stays as if i were babying the car. I will baby this tank to see how much of an approvement it will make.
All in all it was a great investment. I have heard by other chip makers of long term damage done by random chips. But i have know idea. For forty bucks, it is by far the biggest bang for your doller.

maximumperf sells two types of chips - a generic one and an "alleged' AC schnitzer one. Both have the same exact spec sheets. Which one did you get, Andrew?

Shoot I can't wait till i get mine. I purchased one from the same guy, he's a vietnamese dude that lives in the same area as i do. He wouldn't let me do a local pick up, anyways he informed me that this was a replica of the Dinan Chip and said that if for any reason it doesn't work he will replace it for free. I need that POWER NOW MY FRIENDS YEEEEEEEHAAAWWWWWWWWW!!!!
So whats the deal with this guy? Sounds like he's buying EPROMS, and has a flash recorder and flashing the EProms with the software that the dinnan, schnitzer and everything has onto them. In laymen terms, its like a CD copy.
