Heres some pictures of my smoking light process..... I didn't use "Tint Spray" I experimented with the "Dupli Color Trim Paint" and a clear coat . it was to mask inperfections in the tail lights ..... then I went a little OCD and did the sidemarkers and Front Parking Lights / Turn Signals...... So here are the pictures of my adventures!!

you are better off using Krylon Stained Glass Red, then clear...it will give it a dark smoked red look without the black and it wont affect light output, this is the method i have used on all my cars... reference picture above ^

can you use that on anything that isnt red??? say your turn signals??
ps. alpine, you cook on your washer???

yep, i suppose, both cars had amber corners in the tail lights before i painted em
i wouldnt use them on the front turn signals as i dont believe they are legal when red....
it comes out dark, so spray lightly and evenly
thats what im wondering... i have clear corners all around and dont really want red tinted corners?? lol what would be the best bet for a transparent tint that wouldnt turn the lights anything but... well... tinted?

yea i figured... im just not going to worry about it and leave them clear... i was kind of asking for a friend with an sti who cant stand the "ricerish" looking tails that come stock on it, so he wanted to tint them to tone it down a bit, but wasnt sure of his options...

You might try hanging them from something next time... saves the skin and all. I have used a light coating of gloss black with a clear before with decent results. I'm with Kraut however... his look champ!
... yeah but I had nothing to hang them from and was going to take a shower soon.... yeah there not perfect because the tail lights are a little f'ed up...... this was to mask it...
