Hi!
I am a new owner of E60.
I got the car 1 month ago.
Today when I check my car, it has a lot of scratch at Door cups, especially passenger side.
Silver4evr's clear bra pictures gave me lots of useful information.
But I cannot find any pictures at Door cups.
Please post clear bra pictures at door cups if you have.
Thank you in advance.

Here's a quick pic of my a door cup(sorry about the rain drops). I typed in "here" where ever there is a visible line.

The installer and I didn't like how they came out. Due to the shape, it couldn't be covered in one piece. They did two pieces horizontally. You're finger nails sometimes catch on the edges. We're going to try vertical pieces next time I'm in the shop.

They still protect from scratches though. Hope this helps.

You're

The problems that I am seeing with the clear bra:

1) some bird crap will leave a yellow stain if left on and you're car is in the sun for a day or two.

2) The edges collect dirt/polish/wax. I've used gentle pressure with a soft cloth to clean some of it. Probably a soft brush of some kind will do better.

3) The edges of the clear bra can come up, especially if they are wrapped around a fender edge and it has not adhered well or been installed properly. I have one piece where about a quarter inch has puckered and the whole piece will have to replaced because the puckered area is now dirty and won't adhere properly.

4) Once the clear bra is chipped it looks like your paint is chipped.

5) With the pre-fab kits, be sure you know exactly what is being covered. On my car, on the bottom of the front bumper where it curves underneathe the car, just where you expect a lot of pebbles/rocks to hit, there is no coverage. I would have to have a custom piece put on.

Good driving to you and yours.

I would go for the custom splash guards/bumper-partial hood kit before the whole hood. Also the top of the rear bumper is a good area to cover.
