Not a BMW, but I thought I'd share my new joy.

So recently at work someone brought in this car to have a coolant loss checked out and it turns out the engine is almost shot, so the owner gave up on it and decided to sell it to me for dirt cheap. And so even though it's in kind of crappy condition I'm a proud owner of a FC3S (RX-7) for those who don't know.

(That's my '86 MR2 in the back)

Yes for those who noticed it is indeed missing a muffler tip on the right side.

The previous owner decided to rear end a truck with a tow hook. You can guess who won that battle.

It needs a car wash and some body work done to it, but all in all I'm quite pleased with my most recent purchase. I still have the Bimmer as my daily driver, and this will be my "Saturday Night Special"/Track car.

Cool.

Would it cost too much to save that engine from total doom?

Sorry about the large picture size i'll have to figure out how to resize them or if someone can tell me, I'm not all that tech savvy.

No drz all in all it won't be too expensive to save it from "total doom", however I'm planning on more than just saving it hopefully get the whole engine reworked since it is going to be for main track use I'll have to keep up with the big dogs and the stock engine on this car isn't exactly pushing out much.

I think your pic size is just fine. Not too large at all.
Enjoy your new toy!

You can make that car handle amazingly... one of the best drivers I've ever ridden with drove one of those with about 5k mostly suspension mods, it was SCCA legal (forget which class) but holy shit.... It was the first ride I ever got in an auto-x...

Tons of fun definitely, even with a jacked up engine it's handles and moves like a champ. I just hope in the future that tons of fun doesn't come out to equal tons of money.

LS1 in FCs and FDs are a great bang for the buck but call me a purist if you will I want to keep a rotary under the hood of this car. It's almost like putting an LS1 into my 318is more power than the 1.8, but it's no longer a BMW by spirit.
