Just took European delivery of a new 325Ci and had a blast driving through Europe. My favorite places to drive, in no particular order:
- Swiss Alps (specifically the Saint Bernard pass, NOT the tunnel)
- Andorra (coming in from the north is a great drive)
- Black Forest country roads (go midweek, very little traffic)
I have tons of other pictures; if you're interested, leave feedback.
I'm flattered. Hadn't thought about making people that jealous, but hey, if it works...
Yeah, I'm from Southern California. But the savings on European Delivery prices are more than the cost of the trip, so you don't really have to be that rich. And I used frequent flyer miles for the air portion. The really expensive part was buying gas. A single tank can cost up to US$80. But it's worth it to drive the autobahn. I could feel the limiter start to kick in about 135mph, so that's as far as I had the guts to push it.
My son took the picture, so you're right, it really isn't mine. But I am the guy sitting in the driver's seat, and you can check the registration of the temporary German plates if you would care to confirm ownership.
The two stickers on the lower part of the front window are the permits you have to buy for Austria and Switzerland. But if it makes you too envious, I'll spare you more pictures. I suppose you shouldn't look too carefully at the little picture on the left, either.

all the people here that own bmw's and have never heard of european delivery, and care to call anyone here a liar without reading even one sentence into a post need to get their heads checked, and/or stop being a dumbass. plus only kids spend the time to lie about what they drive on places like this forum.
anyways, id love to see some more pics of the car in europe, it looks awesome

I guess the best way to show that I did a European Delivery is to show the picture at the factory the day we picked it up. You give them your passport and paperwork from the US dealer where you arranged the purchase, then you wait maybe half an hour while they finish their documents and retrieve the car. They go over the insurance and drop-off procedures, and review guidelines for driving in Europe, then you're on your way. I'm only sorry I couldn't tour the factory, because they close it down in August to re-tool for the next model year.
Yeah, Reuben is my son, and he's only heard the Ru Paul thing about fifty-eight billion times. Which is my fault, of course, for not predicting that complication when I named him.
