I test drove a 6spd Manual X3 with M-Sport package off of BMW's Press Fleet, and it was pretty awesome. The engine note is a bit quiet, but other than that it's very surprising. Plenty of power and the handling is great. You know the X3 actually has the same skidpad results as the E36 M3, so I suggest you STFU whoever is bashing, get a life.

I second spiff's comments. It was awesome to drive the x3 on a twisty road for a test drive. Best with 6 speed, once you get into the higher rpm, the exhaust note really sounds nice.

Thanks for the feedback.

A quick question for you members who have been driving BMW's for awhile.

I am new to this forum but my other ride is a 01 Vette coupe (I can hear the groans) and I have belonged to several Corvette forums. On the Vette forums we often exchange thoughts and opinions about the performance, mods and troubles we experience so I hope its OK to bring up a few questions from a newbie BMW driver.

Do you guys find a huge difference in the sensitvity of the brakes from your other rides? Like I'm talking feather pressure for max stopping! The Vettes are known for their good brakes but there is lots of room in the pedal from start of braking to full ABS. It does take some adjusting to drive the X3.

I find my car has a better brake response than other cars. Dont know if its just me or maybe BMW makes good brakes

You are describing normal European brake operation.
