I just got a mini saltwater tank set up the other night. It's pretty cool B) It is a little less than one gallon. Nothing in it but live rock for now, hopefully next week I can start putting some small crabs in it. The second pic is what it looks like in person, I changed the light setting on my camera to get the first one to look more blue.

It looks a lot bigger in the pics. The tank itself is 7" X 7" X 8" My roommate has a 46 gallon bow front reef tank downstairs, and a mini tank like mine and 5.5 gallon in his bedroom.
I was big into saltwater aquariums about 5 years ago. If I remember correctly, without expensive filters and equipment, you can't have a tank much under 20ish gallons or everything in it will become stressed and die. Either way, saltwater tanks are very nice to have, but require a rediculous amount of babying and they stink up your place...

This is why I have a bunch of live rock in my tank. All that is really required to keep it working well is weekly water changes and knowing what will live in it. All I plan on putting in mine is some star pollops, pulsing xenia, and maybe a few small snails or crabs.
