that car started out as a 1987 325i automatic convertible. i just ran the carfax on it.
it looked fishy when it claimed to be an m3 and the vin started with a WBA instead of the prerequistic WBS( ALL M cars vins start with WBS, FYI).
its basically a nice clean e30 vert.. with a 5 lug conversion, a body kit, and a s52 motor swap. but isnt an m3. and not worth THAT price when you see it for what it is..
Automatic convertibles are rare? It's an okay looking car. Thank God it wasn't a 5 speed... THEN, it would be total crime. Auto; no big loss. Personally, I'd leave all of the riceboy tinted/smoked bling off of the car. I prefer more of a factory look if I'm modifying a car's looks. But... to each their own. If he's lucky, he'll get that asking price. It's hard to recoup the hard work and money that goes into a car like that. The sacrifice we make when we build our cars.

exactly...one look at that vin and i knew it wasnt an M3
For some reason I dont feel like that car will sell for $31 large. It's really just a replica of a rare car, no different from adding a body kit. Probably hauls though

This seller is fishy. He listed teh car as an M3 with the intention to deceive. He doesn't mention it is a modded 325i anywhere on the listing -- he refers to teh car as an M3 over and over. The article to which he links is very clear about the car's origin, but I don't think that is enough. I asked the seller "This is a modified 325i cab, correct? Not a federalized Euro E30 M3 cab?" He answered and told me that was correct, but the Q/A exchange was not posted on the listing. I was hoping it would show so that some poor soul doesn't get fooled into buying this car thinking it is something it isn't.
