I just put on my 7th coat of Zaino's Z5 today. Zaino is the only paint polish I will use.

woobiee, did you clay bar you car first? If you didn't clay bar it I highly recomend you do, it makes a huge difference especially since you have a black car. Also what polish are you using, the Z5 or Z2?

i did not clay bar it. im a noobie to Zaino.

i used my friends kit so i only could do only one coat.

first i washed everything with Dish soap. Then used Z5 w/ Z6 spray. Afterwards I did a coat of Z2.

I would get a kit of your own and restart the process with clay baring the car first. Also, unless you have the accelerator stick to one coat per 24 hour period, it makes a difference. Like with me, since i just did a coat of Z5 I wouldn't put another coat on untill tomorrow night at the earliest if I wanted to do another coat. Hit me up on AIM or yahoo messenger if you have any questions.

I've heard dish soap is really bad for your paint. It leaves a residue on it.

dish soap is required for the very first coat of Zaino since dish soap gets rid of EVERYTHING; it is required to get rid of all previous waxes for Zaino to work at its best.

YOUR CAR LOOKS AWESOME!!!!

never use dishsoap. i dont care what any product tells you to do. there are alkalines in the detergent that can deffinately have adverse affects to your paint! i put this at the bottom because what is really important is at the top.

You only wash the car one time with the dish soap. This is to remove any wax and other contaminants on the paint. This way the Zaino will bond better to the clear coat or paint depending on how old the car is. Otherwise they recomend you use their car wash or another good quality car wash.

'm gonna go with the last part you said (their wash or another good one). If you want to insure good stripage, boyds makes a pre-wax that removes all of that stuff. I'm telling you man dish soap is BAD NEWS. n

BTW AJ, is that your '81. Man that thing is GORGEOUS!!
