Umm...no. Germany and Austria are right next to each other. In fact, if you were driving between a number of German cities, the fastest route would actually be through Austria.
Yeah. I think I actually was driving from one place in Germany to another, and dipped into Austria.
No biggie. They are neighbors though.
It's like going from state to state here in Europe when you go country to country. The only place I had to show my passport was in and out of Switzerland.
(well, flying to London, too, but I was flying. Duh)
Go figure.
