I've been looking at this car a lot. I'd really like to purchase a Porsche and this one is the only one in my price range. I wouldn't buy a regular boxster as they are far too under powered for me. What are your opinions on the Boxster S? Beautiful or ugly? Fast or slow? Buy or don't buy? Chime in!!!

the Boxster S is a great car, and a true value amongst those cars considered to be a true driver's car. Very balanced, buttery smooth power, and as predictable in it's handling as any car Porsche churns out. I've always been a huge fan of Porsche cars, and the Boxster S is a great addition to their line up. I just can't wait for the S coupe to come out (this fall) as I'm not a fan of cabs.
Any of you that bust that car up are merely looking at specs and price, you've never driven one. They are great cars worth every penny. Put down your magazines, and pick up a set of keys.
btw, car & driver have always been bias towards american cars, and Road & Track towards German. In the end, it all comes down to personal taste.

i know this thread is old BUT...
go drive a boxster and a couple other roadsters back-to-back.
the boxster sucks compared to even the old z3 2.8.
the biggest issue i had with it which made me not buy one is the wind noise. even with the rear diffuser i could not have a conversation in it with the top down at anything more then 40 mph. f*ck, i can chat on my cellphone in my friends 2004 mustang when we are doing 80mph.
the boxsters cool no doubt all porsches are cool but are you buying one used or off the lot? if its used your better off buying a different car for half the price and use the rest of your money to sup it up but if your like me and know that porsches are nice cars for ot just speed but comfort handling style uniqueness theres a reason that porsche is so great test drive it check it out personally i would get another porsche 911 carrera coupe that car is sweet better then the boxster in my opinion
As Porsche Boxter's go, that's the best one I've ever seen. Still, it's waaay overpriced.... But, I'm not a big fan of boxter's already. Have you looked at the other Porsche models? I'd never buy a brand new car myself... don't boxter's have really bad depreciation?
