I JUST HELPED A FRIEND OF MINE CHANGE THE OIL AND FILTER IN HER CAR (94 JETTA GLS 2.0). I NOTICED THERE SOME PARTS MISSING BY THE MANIFOLD. SHE TOLD ME HER EX TOOK THEM OUT BECAUSE THEY BROKE... LON STORY SHORT, HE BORROWED THE CAR THE OTHER DAY AND CAME BACK SAYING THE CAR HAD BROKEN DOWN AND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM WAS THE OIL FILTER I PUT IN THE CAR . HE SAID THE FILTER BROKE ON THE INSIDE AND PARTICLES OF THE FILTER WENT INTO THE ENGINE AND CLOGGED A BUNCH OF STUFF.
HAS ANYONE OUT THERE EVER HEARD OF AN OIL FILTER (BRAND NEW) THAT BREAKS FROM THE INDSIDE AND CLOGS THE ENGINE PARTS? ghead

I have heard of several FRAM filters collapsing and doing just this, but I have never SEEN it personally.

someone told me about that before. He says that when you reply in caps you are actually screaming or pissed. is this what you are refering to? Then again, what the hell does that have to do with the topic at hand? ck
Yeah, her ex if definately full of shit, or he knows absolutely nothing about cars. A filter breaking down on the inside on a normal, street - driven car? What is he smoking
