because its an amazing vehicle offroad, more capable in some places then even the orriginal king of offroad the HMMWV (h1). Dont like the blind spots in it, but its a great vehicle.
Wouldn't use it as a daily driver, because in general I don't like suvs, but if I could afford a purely recreational weekend blaster in addition to a sports car, it'd be on my list of things to buy. Til then I'll just keep stealing ones from our dealership for the weekend(I wish). Can't even keep them in stock when we charge 3,000 over full MSRP. Prices are up to 43,000 for the h3 at the moment. Eesh.
I think the original hummer used by the military is bad ass off-road machine, or the G500, Range Rover, Land Cruser. The H2 made by GM is just a poss I saw video of a H2 trying to get over some rocks and the tie-rod broke or came off. I was laughing my head off.

I was going to say - the H3, maybe, but the H2 is a disgrace, the H1 is how it was intended to be.
Holy shit. Dude, if you wanna go offroad, just buy a fucking H1. They are ass kickers. And the looks you get driving one around town (I rode in one once) are freaking awesome. Multipurpose can't touch this.
An H2 or H3 is like Hillary Duff trying to break into punk rock. It ain't gonna happen, because she's a poser (among other things). Then again, if you're a rich rapper who wants a crib on wheels, and lots of useless space to tack on bling-bling, this ride's for you.
Personally, I'd buy one of these fucked up Japanese trucks before I bought an H3. Hell, if you want attention, what can beat that? I'll bet it gets better mileage too.
That is all.

You couldn't pay me to keep an SUV. I'd turn around and sell it after you gave it to me. Hell, I won't even buy an X series BMW, and I'd buy one of those before investing in a damned hummer.
Besides, I'm military... I'm sure I'll get a chance to drive on of the real things eventually.

No thank you!
I'd rather have the H3.

I'm sorry, but because I'm allowed, I'm going to voice my opinion on this picture:

You got to be joking me! You wouldn't keep a Cadillac Escalade, Yukon Denali, or Porsche Cayenne Turbo? Not to mention the X5 4.8. Geeze!

I'd take one of those anyday!

Hey, I'd take that x5 or the cayenne turbo... And attempt to fit their engines into my car, and fail miserably. But I'd try.
An escalade should not be mentioned within that aforementioned group.

escalades suck.
interior is the worse POS ive ever seen (its just a cheap chevy plastic interior with some leather bits here and there, and fake plastic wood). ive driven far too many escalades to ever want to even drive one ever again.
and the h3 owns the h1 on certain trails. the h1 is an infinitely capable machine, but the h3 is more maneuverable. and ALOT quieter.
and, dont look forward to driving a service HMWVV, they are terribly uncomfortable and the only A/C you'll have access to is 55mph with the windows rolled down. unless you are a e3 or lower and driving with your NCO.. in which case go romp the thing and you wont be responsible, he will be
