I hate to say this, but while BMW engineers seem to be gearing more towards useless creature comforts (systems that tell you if you have enough room to park you car n ) the leading Japanese auto manufacturers are working on ways to keep drivers alive and safe® .

Works with radar
A radar in the front of the car stashed behind the "H" logo detects vehicles within a range of about 300 feet ahead. The system initially pulls on the seat belt and brakes slightly to warn the driver. A buzzer also goes off and a small light flashes on the dashboard.
that would be cool if the honda radar thingie would jam popo radar thingies.

A jamming thingy whilst also being a warning thingy would be sweet! Even a jam-warning thingy would be useful, or a warning-jam thingy ...
I'm sure someone will figure a way to turn it into a warning/popo radar/popo jamming/drive thru order thingy.

i needed a warning when you threw poo in my radiator, and my engine overheated. that was pretty nasty.

You didn't hear me yell "Fire in the hole!!!" before launching my surprise poo attack?

Maybe I'm just stupid, but wouldn't this thing kick in everytime you come to a stop light? Maybe i read it wrong or soemethin, but seems pretty gay to me
I would think the light would be too high to register. I'm guessing it works by calculating your velocity versus the velocity of the object you are approaching (probably similar technology to the radar guns cops use) then based on that it determines if you are going to hit it. I think it's a great piece of technological ingenuity. Consider the number of people who fall asleep at the wheel, or simply don't pay attention because they are useless douch bags, and it could potentially save alot of lives.

thats sounds pretty innovative, but i dont know how helpful its gonna be. i mean if some one slams on their brakes while on the highway becuase of a dog or a piece of debris, and your not paying attention, no buzz or beep is gonna save you if your within normal following distance. but then again it says its good up to 300ft, and 70mph is about 103ft/sec, so it could alert you giving you about 3sec to react to avoid smashing into the guy infront of you, and realistically the driver in front wouldnt come to a complete stop so thats maybe about a 4-5sec heads up warning. so now i guess i just contradicted what i said before. :P

??? are you serious/??
This will help people who are drunk, falling asleep, putting on makeup and eating a buffet while driving, talking on the celly, jackin off, not paying attention to the road in general, etc. This will save your @ss money from fender benders and even save lives. How is that gay? Its innovative technology...

people who are drunk shouldn't be getting safety assistance.

True. But it's not like one can stop people from driving drunk. If the car has a system in it that will keep them from plowing into me, well I'm all for it.
Sure it's not iDrive , there's a usefull feature ....
