so i go to the local subaru dealer to get a brochure of the new legacy for my dad, and i start talking to the salesman, things progress, and before i know it im asking for a test drive. the amazing thing is that he let me drive it and i'm only 16! B) so i go out in a legacy 2.5GT wagon w/ 5spd manual (250hp 250lb/ft) and it rocks!! Its so fast (almost as fast as my dads 540i!) it just motors, i had a hard time keeping it under 20km over the speed limit :lol: it feels very BMW-like and handles great i actually got to go into a 4-wheel drift (at the insistance of the salesman!) going around a broad 90 degree corner at 130km/h the gearshift feels like it already has a short shift kit on it and the clutch is very BMW-like in its release and weighting.the only thing i'd want on it would be a 6th gear, cuz in 5th at 4500 is 150km/h . the best part is that it only costs $42,000 CDN for a fully loaded 2.5GT 5spd
now i just have to convince my dad to buy one for my mom! we were looking at the 3 series touring, but they're a bit on the pricey side, and a bit cramped in the back for what we need. i'd prefer the bimmer, but hey, a subaru is better than our 98 V70 that is so fucking slow ghead
hmm, i have to go to the bmw stealership 2moro to get the 540i looked at, maybe they'll let me take a 330i or a 530i out to play with (what are the chances i could take an M3??? )
I was in a 2005 STI with this kid that I know, it is the same guy that has an 01' M3 that he totaled...the 05' STI was his second car so he was never without transportation...tranSPORTation

I drove the legacy gt. i was Very impressed, i take back everything bad i have ever said about the wrx if it is anything like the legacy, to bad its so goddamn ugly..
thats funny torquester.. we have a v70 too, and my mom was thinking about a e46 325 next, but the suburu's price and performance blow the shit out of the bmw we drove.
Repair cost between a subaru and BMW don't differ much, I have a friend who has a STI. I think subaru's are great, cheap and amazing performance. And they know AWD very well, they have been in the rally business sucessfully for decade's. I would probably choose a STI over a M3, cause it saves you about $30000 CND.

Let me get this straight, first mommy buys him an m3, he totals it like a dipshit, and THEN she buys him a new STI? Holy shit that kid is so screwed when he gets out on his own.
he had the STi and M3 st the same time. 2 cars... are his parent going to buy him a house too? and support him for the rest of his life? i want to see how he turns out.
