so leme get this right... so after the E92s and so forth, they are going to call them F01? and F10s?

so does that make my E30 an F30?
IMO the E sounds better... i duno why... guess its just what ive come to know a BMW to be...
Why Mess With Perfection?

Existing codes will remain untouched. Your E30 will still be an E30. New models will have new codes.

the "E" will definately be missed, but hopefully the "F" will stand for "F"orward thinking, "F"ast vehicles, and maybe "F"ormula 1 inspired engineering

Does anyone have a link to all the E versions and which models they correspond to? Did the E-designations apply to the BMW motorcycles as well?

BMW Information has the list on their main page.

And yes, there is an F14 concept presently - due out 2010/11ish. It's poised to be a CLS competitor. I've seen the photos, and it looks like my kind of car. Presently though, I'm still blown away by the Z Coupe. Love those cars.

good question but it wasnt set up in order like that... E stands for Entwicklung in German, which means Development in English... F stands for??? yeah i dont like this whole going to F idea... just make it 3 digit!
Hope that helps. It's a shame that the E is leaving, but I'm still a proud owner of an E39

Can't get car to start..

I have a 1986 325e and I can't get it to start. I bought the car as is and the person who had it said he came to a stop light and the car turned off. The car has not been running since. THe car seems like it's not getting any fire. It has new wires, plugs, distributor cap, coil, tested the sensors on the transmission and still can't get it to run. Can anyone give me any tips on what could be wrong?
